Udupi (Karnataka): The protest was organised here by HJS along with other organisations against the Anti-Hindu “Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill 2011. More than 200 devout Hindus participated in the protest.
Mr. Madhukar Mudradi, Sri Ram Sena; Mr. Rajshekhar Hebbar, Bharatiya Pratishthan, Udupi; Mr. Raghavendra Acharya, Bharat Swabhiman Trust; Dr. (Mrs.) Srikala Joshi, Sanatan Sanstha; Mr. Ravindra Kamath and Mr. Vijay Kumar, HJS; Devout Hindus Mr. Vasudev Bhat; Mr. Harish Padukere, Patanjali Yoga Trust and many other devout Hindus including volunteers from Hindu Yuva Sena actively participated in the protest.
Sri. Mudradi from Sri Ram Sena said, “Govt. is not passing the bill regarding ban on cow slaughter even after appeal by 4 crore Hindus. But now Central Govt. wants to approve such draconian Anti-Hindu bill.” Dr. Srikala Joshi from Sanatan Sanstha said, “Hindus are themselves responsible for such situation as they are engaged in their own day to day activities and entertainment and they are not bothered about such draconian Anti-Hindu bill. Now all Hindus should unite together to protest against the ‘Communal Violence Bill’ to save themselves.” Mr. Ravindra Kamath from HJS said, “This bill is drafted to curb Hindus completely and to appease minorities. All Hindus should come out to protest against such draconian acts of Central Govt.”
Mr. Hebbar from Bharatiya Pratishthan said, “If this bill is passed then it will be nightmare for Hindus. If a person from minority group rapes a Hindu woman, he will not be prosecuted because this bill assumes that a person from minority can’t indulge in crime. Even if any person from minority group gives false complaint against a Hindu, then that Hindu person will be kept in non-bailable custody for 90 days. If this bill becomes a law, Hindus will lose their freedom and we will be living a life like slaves.”
Devout Hindu Mr. Bhat said, “Today Media has completely failed to create awareness in Indians about such draconian Anti-Hindu and Anti-Constitutional Bill.
Mr. Acharya from Bharat Swabhiman Trust said, “This bill is totally against the Constitution. As per this bill, if a Hindu is arrested as per complaint received from a person from minority group, he will be treated as guilty until he proves that he is not guilty.”
