Christian school announced holiday on ‘Ekadashi’ due to HJS’s warning

Lasalgaon (Dist. Nasik, Maharashtra) : Sri Vitthal-Rukhmini is worshipped all over Maharashtra with great devotion. Warkaris and devotees of Vitthal visit Pandharpur or any Vitthal Temple with great enthusiasm on the day of Ekadashi and pay obeisance to Vithuraya lovingly. People observe fast also on that day. So the aided as well as private schools have holiday on Ekadashi;  but one Christian school by name ‘Christi Mission School’ was not given holiday on Ekadashi purposely out of hatred towards Hindu Faith. When the members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) came to know about it, they tried to convince the headmaster stating the importance of the Day on a telephone; but when he denied understanding it, the members reprimanded him telling to declare holiday at that moment. Ultimately the Headmaster had to give in and declare holiday immediately. (Congratulations to HJS members for forcing the Headmaster who, despite living in Bharat, had hurt the feelings of Hindus in majority purposely, to declare holiday for the school ! – Editor SP)

When the workers of HJS from Lasalgaon, came to know that ‘Christi Mission School’ had purposely kept the school open on religious festival of Ekadashi, they contacted the Headmaster of the school Jayant Sable on a telephone and made him aware of his anti-Hindu action. In the beginning Sable ignored the demand made by HJS members . He said, “This is a minority school and we give holidays only on very important days. Besides we have Christian students more and Hindus are less; so no holiday is given on Ekadashi day” Hearing that justification from the headmaster the members reprimanded him and told him, “This is an issue of millions of Hindus’ faith. The Government also has declared holiday. Other schools are also closed then why do not you give holiday? This will not do now. This is Hindustan. You will have to honour Hindu feelings too. If you do not declare holiday within half an hour then Hindus will get outraged emotionally and you will be responsible for any emotionally untoward instances later.” Thereafter the Headmaster declared holiday within half an hour.
