Police stop announcements made to propagate Gurupournima function

The police had granted permission to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for advertising of the Guru-Pournima (GP) function by making announcements during 12th to 14th July; therefore, announcements about the function were made on 13th July from an auto-rickshaw. Few policemen stopped the rickshaw but as soon as they were shown the letter granting permission, they allowed advertising of the program. On the following day, however, police prohibited such announcements giving the excuse of its adverse effect on law and order situation. On 15th July, a notice was issued by the police against one activist and was handed over the same to him at the GP venue. It was stated in the notice that if this program disturbed law and order, he would be held responsible. (In fact, only police should be held responsible for whatever happens anywhere. Police, who were expressing fear of affecting law and order, will never say anything about poisonous provocative speeches made by Muslims in mosques. Police at some place can create law and order problem and arrest Sanatan and HJS seekers just to please the rulers ! – Editor SP)
