Defamatory movie ‘Buddha Hoga Tera Baap’

Mumbai: There is grave denigration of the great Guru-Disciple tradition followed in Indian culture in the film titled ‘Buddha Hoga Tera Baap’ produced by ‘Viacom 18 Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd’ and ‘Amitabh Bachhan Corporation Ltd.’ It has been shown in the film that an assistant of a hooligan becomes a fake Guru and cheats and robs people besides smuggling weapons. (Lack of unity among Hindus is the cause of such denigration of their great traditions. Would the film producer have dared to show some mulla –maulavi or a missionary in place of the Guru? Such films should mass boycott by Hindus on this film ! – Editor SP) Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has opposed this denigration and a representation has been sent to the Central Film Censor Board and producers of the film. It has been demanded in the representation that such denigrating part should be removed from the film.

Denigrating portion in the film

A hooligan named Viju wearing saffron robes and chain of ‘Rudraksha’ visits hermitage of a fake Guru enacted by Rajeev Verma where his discourse is going on. Seeing Viju, he embraces Viju and introduces him to his disciples as ‘Viju is the Guru of Gurus’. Later, both of them meet in privacy when the following conversation takes place.

Viju : Your business has picked up quite well. Are you shown even on TV?

Verma : Yes, everyday. Tell me how is life in Paris?

(Listening to Verma’s pure Hindi….. )

Verma : Your satsang (discourse) is over now.

Verma : I have been able to get mastery over this language after lot of hard work; I am ok this way.

Viju : Have you obtained all information about ACP?

Verma : Yes, my disciples will tell you.

Viju : What about guns, bullets bombs, bazooka… do you have bazooka?

Verma : You will get it. Can I tell you something Viju, the less is the non-violence followed in life, it is better. God also expects the same from his devotees.

Viju : Your devotees worship Him and I personally send them to Him. (O Bhirjee, do not bore me. Viju has come after so many days; therefore, one blast is necessary boss.)

Verma : certainly

Why we must stop such Denigration of Hindu Dharma and Hindu Icons?

Know more about the Guru and the Guru-Disciple tradition :

What does the term 'Guru' mean?

During the period of compilation of mantras in order to arrange the holy texts or verses systematically in the form of Sanhitas, the formation of the institution of the Guru to study, teach, practise and apply the mantras became the need of the hour.
How does the Guru's grace (Gurukrupa) function?

In the final step one does not even have to make a resolve. Mere presence, proximity or company of the Guru is sufficient for a disciple's spiritual practice and progress to occur automatically.
Who is worthy of being called a disciple?

The one who surrenders his everything, that is, his body, wealth and life unto the Guru and learns Yoga from Him (that is, practises Spirituality as recommended by Him) is called a disciple (shishya).
What is the correct way of offering obeisance to the Guru?

One offers obeisance to the Guru or saints by placing one’s head on Their feet instead of merely folding one’s hands in the obeisance (namaskar) posture. At that time, a saint often touches one’s back or head. This bestows an even greater benefit.
Why does a genuine disciple follow his Guru's directives without any doubt?

A disciple may not be aware of the motive behind the Guru’s directives yet he is certain that whatever the Guru advises has a benevolent purpose. That is why a genuine disciple of the Absolute Truth carries out the Sadguru’s orders without a hint of doubt.
