Eros Now mocks Hindu Dharma in its webseries ‘Metro Park’

Nowadays, it has become a trend to denigrate Hindu Dharma, Hindu Deities, saints, etc through Movies, television series, advertisement, webseries, etc. And now, Eros Now in its webseries ‘Metro Park’ has mocked the Hindu Dharmik rituals performed for a new home by showing a ‘techie’ Poojari performing an app based e-puja.

This web series is about an Indian Gujarati Family Living in Metro Park in America. They contact a techie Pujari online for performing a housewarming puja for their new home in Metro Park. On the day of puja when the pujari arrives one of the family member asks to switch of the smoke alarm. On this the pujari says, “You ordered Eco-puja, right, then there is no smoke.. only Moksha”. Further pujari says, “With Eco-puja there is no burning trees, no carbon emissions, no climate change nonsense” and opens the ‘e-pooja’ app. A puja havan kunda with fire is seen on the screen and the pujari starts the puja. He recites some mantras and asks everyone to offer ghee and coconut by pressing corresponding buttons on the screen. Later he says you can perform the pradakshina (circumambulations) or press the button and let it do for you. And everyone agrees to press the button.

In the name of eco-friendly puja they are mocking the ancient Bharatiya fire sacrifices viz. puja, havan and yag/yajnya and hurting the sentiments of Hindus. Karmakand/Karmayoga is one of the ways to attain Moksha (self-realization). By performing karma (making attempts) with complete knowledge, Parameshwar (Supreme God) is attained. Doing e-puja by just pressing buttons is the ignorance about the importance and knowledge about the havan and will not benefit spiritually, instead can increase our demerits.

Just as we need to eat and drink to survive, for the well-being of the Earth regular yadnyas (fire sacrifices) are necessary. When the world is facing the deadly effects of viruses such as ‘Zika’, ‘Ebola, ‘Nipah’, ‘Swine flu’, ‘Dengue’,  ‘Corona’, Chikungunya etc, a lab in Bengaluru has shown that performing yadnyas (fire sacrifices) can keep these at bay. By performing a yadnya for a day for upto a month an area of 100 yards around it protected from pollution. The atmosphere has been found to become cleaner and healthier. So instead of air pollution, the yagya purifies the air.

So, Yagya has positive effects on the environment; e-pooja only denigrates Hindu values!

  • Hollywood celebrities like Julia Roberts, George Harrison, Russell Brand, etc converted to Hinduism.
