Pune (Maharashtra): Shiv Sena MLAs have firmly resolved that they would not allow the Anti-Superstitions Act to be passed as it attacks Hindu Dharma. If the Government is firm about passing the Act in the impending monsoon session, we are also firm about not getting the Act passed, is the stance taken up by MLAs from opposition parties.

Mr. Mahadev Babar, Shiv Sena MLA from Hadapsar constituency in Pune said, “The effect of this Act will be quite serious; therefore, we have been strongly opposing the Act right from the beginning.  The Government is firm about passing the Act. If this Act is presented in the coming session, we shall strongly oppose it.” Mr. Chandrakant Mokate, Shiv Sena’s MLA elected from Kothrud said, “I have discussed the matter regarding this Act with Dharmacharyas. They have also expressed opposition to passing of this Act; therefore, in case, this Act is put up in the Legislative Assembly, we shall sternly oppose the same.” Mr. Vijay Shivatare, Shiv Sena MLA from Purandar also strongly opposed the Act.
