Memorandum submitted by HJS to Congress MLA Prashant Thakur against Anti-Superstitions Act

Panvel (Maharashtra): Memorandum was submitted to the Congress MLA Prashant Thakur from Panvel against the anti-Dharma Anti-Superstitions Act planned to be passed in the ensuing monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly. The memorandum was submitted at his residence at 9.30 p.m. Mr. Thakur was explained in detail about how the anti-Dharma Act was detrimental to the customs, traditions and culture of Hindu Dharma.

All members present on the occasion expressed their strong feelings against the proposed Act. Mr. Pradyumna Sharma of Gayatri Parivar, Mrs. Usha Sharma of Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Mr. Chandrakant Patil, Bajarang Patil, Ramchandra More of Shree Sampradaya, Mr. Motilal Jain of Jain Organisation, Mr. Sudhakar Gharat of Swami Samartha Sampradaya, Mr. Prakash Manik of Asarambapu Sampradaya, Mr. Rameshbuva Phadake of Hanuman Bhajani Mandal, H. B. P. Bhusheth Patil and H. B. P. Janardan Sardekar of Warakari Sampradaya, Mr. Abhay Vartak, the spokesperson, Mr. Ravindra Mahakal of Sanatan Sanstha, Mr. Bapu Raokar and Milind Poshe of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) were the eminent personalities present on the occasion.

Under the influence of Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANS), the Government is trying to pass this anti-Hindu Dharma Act. The laws already exist which can punish those, who cheat people taking advantage of their blind faith and superstitions; even then, the Government wants to pass the Act under the pressure tactics adopted by ANS.

This Act will attack traditions followed by Hindus and therefore, it should be opposed was the demand made by HJS with MLA Thakur. Mr. Thakur said, “This Act will be sent to joint review committee. The Act cannot be passed without taking into account, the suggestions made by the Committee. I will talk to the seniors about the Act.
