The Bill on Anti-Superstitions will be presented in the session but there is no guarantee that it would be passed ! – CM

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : All the objections to the proposed ‘Maharashtra Narbali va Anya Amanaviya Anishta va Aghori Pratha va Jadutona Yana Pratibandh va Tyanche Samul Ucchatan Adhiniyam, 2011 have  been taken care of by discussing the issues with the concerned factions; therefore, the Bill will be presented in the coming monsoon session; but there is no guarantee that it would be passed because the Bill will be discussed in the House, stated Mr. Pruthviraj Chavan, the State Chief Minister (CM) in a press conference held today.

In the background of the session, press conference was held by the Government on Sahyadri Guest House which was attended by the CM as also Dy. CM. While talking about the Anti-Superstitions Act, the CM said, “The Government is going to try to achieve the basic concept behind passing this Act by attending to the objections raised by some people.” Cutting the CM during discussions, Dy. CM Ajit Pawar said that Warakari Sampradaya had some objections to this Act which have been removed and the Bill has now support of Warakaris. (When Warakari Sampradaya is continuously opposing the Bill, Dy. CM is telling lies ! – Editor SP) Some people had earlier published that the Act would be a blow to culture and traditions; but, in fact, nothing will take place to that effect. Religious sentiments will not be hurt of anyone due to this Act. This Act is being passed only to protect society from quackery. The main controversial clause 13 has been omitted. The Bill is not like the old Bill but amendments have been carried out in the draft.”

CM fumbles when asked whether discussion were held with followers of other religions

A reporter of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat (DSP)’ asked the CM during discussions, “The Government has had discussions only with Hindus on this Bill; but we have neither heard about such discussions held with Muslim or Christian religious heads nor read about it. Is this Act not going to be applicable to followers of other religions? Why did the Government act in such manner?” The CM said, “If any faction has objection to the Bill, the Government is still ready to have discussions before the session.” Once again the reporter of DSP asked, “In terms of this Act, if a person is physically hurt during performance of a religious ceremony, it is an offence. Has the issue of ‘Matam’ carried out by Muslims been thought about?” The CM had no answer to this and he side-tracked this question. (Congress Govt. is always alert when any matter related to Muslims crops up; whereas all laws are only made applicable to Hindus. Hindus should note this mentality of the Congress Government against Hindus and get ready to establish Hindu Nation. – Editor SP)
