Sangli (Maharashtra): A representation was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to the Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar, and Sangli District’s guardian Minister and Forest Minister, Dr. Patangrao Kadam demanding that the proposed Anti-Superstitions Act is an attack on Hindu Dharma and should be cancelled. Both the ministers promised to consider suggestions given by HJS. Mr. Dattatreya Retharekar, Dwarakadheesh Mundada of HJS and Mr. Madhusudan Kulkarni of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion. Another representation to stop insult of National Flag taking place through use of plastic flags was also submitted to them.

Representation against the proposed Communal and Targeted Violence Bill 2011 was submitted to Mr. Pratik Patil, the Central Minister, Coal and Mines Department demanding its cancellation. Mr. Patil promised to study the same.
