Pro-Hindus stage demonstrations against anti-Hindu ‘Eradication of superstitions Act’ at Yavatmal

Yavatmal (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti staged demonstrations at Dattaa Chowk against the Anti-Superstitions Act since it is against Dharma. Many pro-Hindu and spiritual organizations, political leaders took part in the demonstrations. 2400 devout Hindus endorsed their signatures opposing the anti-Hindu Act. There is need to eradicate superstitions; but anti-Hindu Andha-shraddha Samiti (ANS) is pressurizing the Government to pass this Act. Owing to the strong opposition to and serious mistakes in the said Bill, the Act could not be passed in the year 2005. Since the same Bill is being put up under a different misleading name, it will lead to restriction on Hindus for performing different religious rituals because under this Act, they will be treated as non-bailable offences. The Act has, therefore, been opposed by even Warkari Sampradaya. About 80 devout Hindus participated in the demonstrations.

Dignitaries participating in the demonstrations

Mr. Shrikrushna Bansod of Gayatri Parivar, Acharya Surendra Tiwari, Pramodbhau Oudarya of Brahmavrunda Organisation, Mr. Rajendra Gaikwad, the city-chief of Shiv Sena, Mr. Munnabhau Mishra, Rajubhau Vaidyawar of Swatantyraveer Savarkar Mitra Mandal, many devotees from Shree Sampradaya and Sree Swami Samartha Sampradaya, Mr. Nandkumar Jadhav of Sanatan Sanstha, Mr. Shrikant Pisolkar of HJS and Mrs. Sunita Khade of ‘Dharmaprachar Sabha’ Trust.

Highlights

1. Eighteen priests of ‘Brahmavrunda’ organization took part in the demonstration in traditional attire

2. Muslims put their signatures on the representation and took part in the drive.

3. Initially, local shopkeepers opposed the demonstrations as it would have affected their business; but there was no opposition when devout Hindus requested them.
