An activist of Hindu Janajaguti Samiti (HJS) received a ‘missed’ call on his cell phone. When he called back the said number, it turned out to be of a police station. Inquiry was made by the police from Intelligence Department about Gurupournima programs. The activist informed the police that similar inquiry was already made by the police. It was, therefore, confirmed by this policeman and he stated that the information was called for by the seniors. After few days, the police contacted the activist again when the following conversation took place.

Police : Namaskar, is that Mr. …….. ?

Activist : Yes.

Police : We want information about the Gurupournima program held recently.

Activist : Were you not there ?

Police : No, I was not here ; but I was at …………….

(He took some more names of members and asked whether they were there for the program?)

Activist : No, they were also not here.

Police : Then where were they? (Information was given about the places where those activists attended the function.)

Activist :  Then who all were here?

(Gave the name of member who had the responsibility of organizing GP programs )

Police : Was she the only one?

Activist : Yes

Police : Any other members?

Activist : Others were common citizens from the society.

Police : How much was the attendance?

Activist : About 400.
