Sangli (Maharashtra): The proposed Anti-Superstitions Act should be withdrawn as it will impose ban on performing many religious rituals and will interfere in the religious matters of Hindus, was the demand made on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) through a representation submitted to Mr. Pradip Kaduskar, the acting deputy District Collector. Another representation, demanding prevention of insult of National Flags taking place due to use of flags made of plastic, was also submitted to him. Similar representations were submitted to Municipal Commissioner Mr. Dattatreya Metake.

The proposed ‘Communal and targeted violence Act 2011’ has been prepared only to throttle Hindus. The Government has been targeting Hindus through different media. If the Government does not pay heed, Hindus will take to roads. The above warning was given by Mr. Hanmantrao Pawar of Shri Shiv Pratishthan. A representation was submitted to the District Administration with the initiative of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to cancel the proposed Act when he expressed the above views.
Mr. Narayanrao Kadam, the Chief Executive of Hindu Ekta Andolan, its city-President Mr. Abhijit Shinde, Mr. Shrikant Shinde of BJP, Mr. Haridas Kalidas, Sachin Pawar of Shri Shiva-pratishthan, Mr. Suhas Joshi of Krantiveer Babarao Savarkar Smruti Pratishthan, Mr. Pravin Kavathekar, the Editor of weekly ‘Lokjagar’, H. B. P. Ramakant Bongale Maharaj, the district-President of VHP, its city-minister Mr. Rajabhau Padsalgikar, officer in-charge -Mr. Madhukarrao Kulkarni, Shridhar Joshi, Mohan Kadam and Mr. Dattatreya Retharekar, Mr. Krushnaji Bulbule of HJS along with many pro-Hindu activists were present on the occasion.
