Mumbai : Issue of notices for shifting of temples for developmental work

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Mr. Subodhkumar, the Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) is creating communal discord by issuing notices to only temples and providing protection to madarsas. It will lead to law and order problem, contended the ruling BJP – Shiv Sena parties municipal councilors taking the administration to task. (Congratulations to the municipal councilors of BJP and Shiv Sena for taking the MMC administration to task for trying to eliminate temples ! Devout Hindus expect these municipal councilors to follow up the matter till end. – Editor SP)

Mr. Sunil Prabhu, the leader of the House made a demand that MMC should immediately stop action initiated against temples which are on the roads/ footpaths. Mr. Chandrakant Pawar, a municipal councilor from Vile Parle raised the point on religious places.
 
A madarasa obstructing the way on S. V. Raod – Milan subway was given an alternative place like other affected parties but the Commissioner and Corporation gave one more place for the madarasa under Milan subway flyover. If madarasa is given alternate place at the same site why is there another rule for temples, houses and shops in that area? The Commissioner is being biased, accused Mr. Pawar. Advocate Ashish Shelar, the group leader of BJP said, “Commissioner is issuing notices to temples from ‘F’ South ward; why is he allocating the same place to madarasa when it was already allocated alternative place ? Why protection is given only to madarasa?” Mayor Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav also supported his point.
