More than 42 persons were killed during the riots staged in the last week of February 2020 in the national capital, Delhi while more than 250 people were injured. Rioters have so severely damaged and set fire to several houses, shops, vehicles and public property that the loss is irrecoverable. Police Constable Ratanlal and Police Officer Ankit Sharma of Intelligence Department were knowingly made targets and killed. It showed that rioters had no fear of police. They have become so bold that they don’t hesitate to kill police and there is scope to believe that it was a well planned riot staged for achieving certain goals. The riots were staged in areas like Chand Baug, Seelampur, Bhajanpura, Maujpur, Yamuna Vihar etc. It was the first riot staged on such large scale after the riots of 1984 staged against Sikhs on killing of Indira Gandhi. The situation so far experienced in Kashmir, was experienced in the capital of this country. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and other devout Hindus submitted the memorandum to Govt. administration at various places.
