HJS’ demands ban on use of tiles with pictures of Deities and religious symbols for preventing people from spitting !

HJS’ demand with Minister for Cooperation

Home (State) Minister Shambhuraje Desai promises to convene a meeting

Mumbai : Tiles with pictures of Deities and religious symbols are fitted on stair-cases of housing cooperative societies, compound walls, corners and at other places so as to discourage people from spitting and throwing litter. Ban should be imposed on use of such tiles by modifying regulations of housing societies, is the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on meeting Shri. Balasaheb Patil, Minister for Cooperation.

Shri. Arvind Pansare, the State spokesperson of HJS submitted memorandum for the above demand to Shri. Patil, Minister for Cooperation while requesting him to take action. Shri. Patil said, “You are doing good work. I shall look into the matter and take action.”

Meeting was also held with Home (State) Minister Shambhuraje Desai for the same demand. Shri. Bharat sheth Gogavale, Shiv Sena-MLA elected from Mahad made a demand that tiles fitted by cooperative housing societies as also at public places with pictures of Deities and religious symbols for discouraging people from urinating or throwing trash was leading to denigration of Deities and hurting religious sentiments of people. A joint meeting should therefore, be held with officers of Home Ministry and Ministry for Cooperation in this context. Minister Desai instructed his private secretary to call such meeting after conclusion of ongoing budgetary session of State Legislative Assembly.

Similar demand was made through a letter by MLA Shri. Gogavale with Minister for Cooperation. Shri. Ajay Sambhus and Shri. Satish Sonar of HJS were present on the occasion.

Mumbai : Shri. Sunil Ghanwat, State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh and its activist Shri. Satish Sonar met Shri. Pradip Jaiswal, senior MLA of Shiv Sena from Sambhajinagar at the party’s office in Vidhan Bhavan. Memorandum was submitted to him for the demand of imposing ban on use of tiles with pictures of Deities and religious symbols which are generally fitted in staircases of buildings, compound walls, corners and other public places. Such tiles are fixed to dissuade people from spitting and throwing litter. He was also requested to try for carrying out amendment in housing societies’ by-laws for making such provision.

Mumbai : Tiles with pictures of Deities and religious symbols are fitted in stair cases, compound walls, in corners etc to deter people from spitting at public places or throwing trash. It is however, leading to denigration of Deities and hurting religious sentiments of millions of Hindus; therefore, the matter should be immediately taken up, was the demand made through memorandum submitted to Shiv Sena-MLA Shri. Rahul Patil on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) who read the memorandum and promised to look into the matter by taking up the same during monsoon session of State Legislative Assembly. Shri. Patil not only gave assurance but also instructed his personal assistant to prepare a letter in this context. Shri. Sunil Ghanwat, State Coordinator of HJS for Maharashtra and Chhattisgad, Shri. Arvind Pansare, spokesperson of HJS for Maharashtra and Shri. Satish Sonar were present on the occasion.

Mumbai : Shri. Sunil Ghanwat, State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Maharashtra and Chhattisgad, Shri. Arvind Pansare, State –spokesperson of HJS and Shri. Satish Sonar recently met BJP-MLA Shri. Mahesh Landage at Vidhan Bhavan. Memorandum was submitted to him for their demands of changing uniform of staff in Mantralaya as it resembled clothes worn by ‘mawlas’ and it was denigrating ‘Marathas’, the other demand being disallowing use of tiles fitted by housing societies with pictures of Deities by amending society by-laws because it amounted to their denigration. Shri. Landage said while accepting the memorandum that the issues brought up by HJS were quite poignant and he promised to personally look into the matter.
