Cancel the proposed Act; else be ready to face public outburst !

Pune (Maharashtra) : In the press conference held here by Committee of all Sects against the anti-superstitions Act, a warning was given to the secular Rulers to face State-wide agitation by Hindus if the Government did not cancel the proposed Act which is full of shortcomings and aimed at attacking religious faiths of Hindus. (Congratulations to all Sects for uniting against proposed Anti-Hindu Anti-Superstitions Act ! If Hindus from all over the State learn something from this example and participate in the agitation against the proposed Act, the danger looming large over Hindu Dharma will be eliminated ! – Editor SP)

Staunch devotee of Samartha Ramadas Swami, Pujya Sunil Chincholkar, H. B. P. Sham Maharaj Rathod of Warakari Sampradaya, Mr. Ganesh Pacharane, Pune district President of Sree Sampradaya, Mr. Jagadish bhai Kanoj from Yoga-Vedanta Samiti of H. H. Asaram Bapu, Mr. Bapusaheb Padalkar, the co-In charge of Patanjali Yoga Samiti for Maharashtra,  Mr. V. A. Kulkarni of Dwait Madhvacharya Sampradaya, Mr. Achalji Jain of Jain Yuvak Mahasangh, Mr. Charanjit Singh of Sikh Janasangh, Mr. Sunil Ghanavat of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Mr. Hemant Shinde of Sanatan Sanstha and Mr. Bapusaheb Chinchkar of Sanskruti Foundation from Alandi were present on the occasion. Several Saints from Maharashtra have created awareness among people towards superstitions and  worked hard for their eradication. They never felt any need for a law. Instead of following example of these Saints, the Government is unnecessarily following few atheists and planning to pass such anti-faith Act under the name of eradication of superstitions. The above accusation was made by all Sects.

Views of the dignitaries

  • Pujya Sunil Chincholkar – Owing to this Act, Sikhs and Jains will start thinking that they are not Hindus. This Act will create a rift among Hindus.
  • H. B. P. Sham Maharaj Rathod – The Government gives promises; but does not take action as per the promise. It is unfortunate that few atheists are influencing the Government to make such Act.
  • Mr. Sunil Ghanavat – The same Act was presented by the Government in the year 2005 and many objections were raised against the same. When the then legislature was dissolved, the Act also got cancelled; but the Government has not removed any objectionable part and serious mistakes from the Act; moreover, has hatched a ploy to pass the same old Act under a new name as  ‘Maharashtra Narbali va Anya Amanaviya Anishta va Aghori Pratha va Jadutona Yana Pratibandh va Tyanche Samool Ucchatan Adhiniyam, 2011’ in the current monsoon session.

Representation submitted to the District Collector

After the press conference, delegation of all Sects immediately submitted the representation to Mr. Anil Pawar, the resident dy. District Collector. The following demands have been made in the representation.

  • Representatives from all Sects should be invited for discussions on the proposed Anti-Superstitions Act.
  • Views of Saints from all Sects including Hindu, Sikh and Jain should be taken into account.
  • It should be clearly mentioned in the Act that it would be applicable to all religions.
  • Provisions of existing laws are sufficient to tackle offences under this Bill; therefore, the said Anti-Superstitions Act should be cancelled.
