Withdraw the proposed anti-superstitions Act which will spoil society and create discord among people ! – demand of Warakari Sect to the CM

O Hindus, unite and support the Saints and Mahants from Warakari Sect who are fighting against the anti-Hindu Act for eradication of superstitions !

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : The proposed Anti-Superstitions Act is completely against Warakari Sect and therefore, the Sect strongly opposes the Act. Warakari Sect is instrumental in creating righteous society whereas the proposed Act will spoil the society and create discord among people; therefore, it should be withdrawn. The above unanimous demand was made by Saints-Mahants from Warakari Sect through a representation to the Chief Minister (CM) Pruthviraj Chavan and Dy. CM, Ajit Pawar. The Home Minister R R Patil, Forest Minister, Patangrao Kadam and Minister for Tribal Development, Mr.  Babanrao Pachpute were also present on the occasion. A meeting was held between members of Warakari Sect and Home Minister R. R. Patil at his residence before submission of the representation.

In the meeting held in the cabin of the Chief Minister at ‘Vidhan Bhavan’, Saints and Mahants from Warakari Sect were present viz. H. B. P. Vivekanand Maharaj Vaskar, H. B. P . Nivrutti Maharaj Vakte of National Warakari Sena, H. B. P . Baburao Maharaj Wagh, H. B. P . Rameshwar Shastri Maharaj, H. B. P. Prakash Maharaj Javanjal, H. B. P. Maruti Maharaj Tuntune, H. B. P. Eknath Maharaj Shelake, H. B. P. Bhanudas Maharaj Dhavalikar, H. B. P. Anil kaka Badave, H. B. P. Gosavi Maharaj and H. B. P. Kumbhargaokar Maharaj etc. who had come from Pandharpur.

H. B. P. Vaskar Maharaj said, “In the ‘Haripath’, Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj says – ‘Hari Uchhaarani Mantra Pai Agaadh, Pale Bhut baadhaa Yene te Ye’; but in the proposed Act, it would be an offence to remove possession by a ghost etc. with the help of ‘mantras’. At many places like Ganagapur, Nrusimhwadi, Saptashrungi etc. persons possessed with ghosts are brought and are tied a ‘thread’ sanctified with ‘mantra’ as remedy; but according to this Act, such worshipped places and its office bearers would be treated as offenders and these important places of worship will have to be closed down; therefore, we strongly oppose this Act. When there are existing laws capable to take care of such problems, passing a new Act will be against the Indian Constitution.” He refuted clause 13 and other clauses on the basis of ‘Dharma-shastra’.   H. B. P. Vakte Maharaj also submitted a representation demanding withdrawal of the Act as it is harmful to Hindu Dharma.

It was assured on behalf of the Government that the demands made by Warakaris with respect to the said clauses would be taken into account and changes would be carried to the Act before passing.

CM takes a decision to set up coordination Committee of Warakaris

The Chief Minister has decided to form a committee under the chairmanship of H. B. P. Vivekanand Vaskar for solving problems related to Warakaris in general and the above Act. Home Minister R. R. The Government also promised to allocate funds of Rs. 300 crores for widening of roads used for ‘Dindis’ by the Warakaris, informed the Minister for Tribal Development, Mr. Babanrao Pachpute. (When Warakaris had gathered to oppose the Anti-Superstitions Act, Ministers tried to divert attention of Warakaris from the main subject by adding other topics. – Editor SP)  The Government had declared financial aid of Rs. 2 lakhs to the relatives of deceased Warakaris in the mishap at Jalna.
