HJS members and devout Hindus protesting against ‘Communal Violence Bill’ |
Mulki (Karnataka) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) held demonstrations near Mulki Bus –stand against the proposed ‘Communal and targeted violence Act’ to be passed by the Central Government. Office bearers of HJS like Ramanand Gauda, the district coordinator of HJS for South Canara district, Ravindra Nayak, the district-coordinator of HJS for Udupi District, Ramesh Nayak, district coordinator for Mangaluru Taluka, Mulki Gram-panchayat member Sunil Alva, Satish Bhat of Hindu Jagaran Vedika, businessman Devidas Punrur, members of BJP Yuva Morcha, members of all India Students Federation, leaders of pro-Hindu organizations and women took part in the demonstrations.
The Bill has been prepared by the Central Government to appease Muslims and punish Hindus. Under this Act, statements made against minority or an article written against minority will be an offence with punishment of 3 years imprisonment, said Ravindra Nayak.
