Nashik: Students forced to take part in Christian religious school programs

Letter issued against such act by Christian School by Education Officer after HJS representation

Nashik (Maharashtra): Waxed skeleton of Saint Don Bosco, who had died in the year 1880 in Italy, is being taken around in India. In this background, Don Bosco Secondary School has organized a program on 6^th August 2011 titled ‘Don Bosco among us’. Students from 6^th to 10^th standard have been forced to attend the program. (In Christian schools, Hindu students are prohibited from tying ‘raakhis’, applying ‘kumkum’ (vermilon), wear bangles etc. ; but they are forced to attend Christian religious programs. This shows their ploy of ‘Christianizing’ of India. There is no alternative to establish Hindu Nation to bring about a change in such situation ! – Editor SP)

Since the program is for Christians and is non-educational, Hindu parents informed Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) about it. A representation was submitted to the District Education Officer (Secondary) making a demand that students should not be compelled to attend such programs. The Education Officer took a note of the representation and issued a letter to the school that students should not be compelled to attend non-educational programs.

The Government has imposed a ban on taking students for waiting to welcome visiting leaders by going in the rain, in the hot sun, cold or without feeding them properly. HJS has also stated in the representation that if any school forces its students to attend non-educational programs time and again, its approval should be revoked.
