Memorandum submitted to Police and Tehsildar at Thane and Murbad and matter explained to the shopkeepers
Thane (Maharashtra): Plastic National Flags are sold in the market on the occasion of Independence Day i.e. 15
th August and the Republic Day i.e. 26
th January. On both these days, after hoisting of the flags in the mornings; by afternoon, the flags are found strewn all over the roads; therefore, action should be taken against those selling such plastic National Flags. Memorandum to the above effect was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) at Naupada Police Station at Thane and at Tehsildar’s office in Murbad in the presence of Mr. Rakesh Pardeshi, Naupada area coordinator of Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena, Mr. Prasad Mhatre, Mr. Dwipdesh Mhatre, Mr. Anil Karade of Sangharsha Mitra Mandal, Mr. Swapnil Shirkar of Swaraj Trust, Mr. Ashish Maurya of Jai Hanuman Mitra Mandal, devout Hindus viz. Mr. Lakshman Tole, Mr. Pradip Tole, Mr. Haresh Khare, HJS members Mr. Ajay Sambhus and members of Dharmashakti Sena Mr. Abhijit Bhojane and Mr. Nitin Waghmare along with other activists.
HJS explained to the local vendors at Chiragnagar, Thane purpose behind prevention of sale of plastic Flags. Mr. Pratap Surve, the branch-chief of Shiv Sena for Chiragnagar, Mr. Shankar More, the President of local merchants’ organization, Shiv Sena group leader, Mr. Narendra Surve, local residents like Mr. Ravikant More, Mr. Vaibhav Tayade, Mr. Sandip Patil, Mr. Manik Patil, Mr. Yashwant Patil, Mr. Yogesh Javale etc. besides Mr. Abhijit Bhojane and Mr. Nitin Waghmare of Dharmashakti Sena were present on the occasion.
Highlights
1. When Mr. Narendra Surve, the branch-chief of Shiv Sena and Shankar More, the President of local merchants’ organization were explained about insult of National Flags, they took initiative and planned to go to every shop creating awareness among other traders.
2. Children attending Dharma-shikshan classes had come from far off villages to Murbad to submit the memorandum.

Badlapur (Thane): To prevent abuse of National Flags due to use of plastic flags, such plastic flags should not be sold, is the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in the representation submitted to senior Police Inspector (PI) Mr. Angadi. HJS members Mr. Purushottam Valve, Mr. Anil Sawant, Mr. Sudershan Joshi and Mr. Lakshman Joshi were present on the occasion. PI Mr. Angadi promised the HJS members that necessary instructions would be given to all vendors for not keeping plastic flags on sale and pamphlets would also be distributed on the issue.
