Strong Opposition from saints to anti-Hindu Acts

Mumbai: Many saints and Religious Heads decided to strongly oppose the enactment of the proposed act for eradication of (Blind) Faith which in fact bans all religious functions and various customs and traditions observed in Hindu religion as also the enactment for taking over management of temples.

Many saints and religious Heads attended a meeting held at Parel in Mumbai in this context. In the State of Karnataka, similar Act was passed and the Government took over more than 2 lacks Hindu temples. Later about 13000 temples out of these had to be closed down. It is feared that the Act may meet the same fate in Maharashtra. It was therefore, decided in the meeting that both the above Acts need to be withdrawn and every one of the participants would do his bit to oppose passing of such anti-Hindu Acts.
