Successful drive of HJS & Sanatan Sanstha to protect the honour of National Flags

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : For the past many years, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), which is ever ready to protect the Nation and Dharma, has been undertaking a drive to prevent abuse of our National Flags. The drive has been receiving very encouraging response from patriotic citizens. This year too, the response received from people of Mumbai, New Mumbai, Raigad and Lasalgaon etc. indicates that the seed of patriotism has been sown among the citizens. An appeal was made through different means like representations, lectures, handbills, display of enlightening banners etc. to protect the honour of National Flag. Boxes were kept in the afternoon of the Independence Day for collecting national flags thrown on the streets , gutters etc.   

Mumbai suburbs

People were explained about prevention of abuse of National Flags at Girgaum, R. M. Bhat High School, Parel; Moti Shah Municipal School, Mazgaon, Brahman Seva Mandal, Dadar, Jambori Maidan, Building No. 108 at Worli etc. Students of private tuition classes like Gurukul Classes, Sewaree, Ganesh Class, Parel etc. were also told about abuse of National Flags. Members of ‘Vajra Dal’ from Dharavi had liked the guidance given by HJS on the subject; therefore, they promptly collected all torn flags strewn all over the roads.

Mrs. Vijaya Shah gave guidance on the topic ‘Present position of Nation and Dharma’ in the 18th annual general meeting of Omkar Cooperative Society held at Brahman Sewa Mandal on behalf of Gurukrupa Pratishthan. About 200 ‘jidnyasus’ attended the program.

A lecture by Prof. Dr. Lakshman Jathar and Miss Bhakti Dalvi on prevention of abuse of National Flags was arranged by Dharmashakti Sena at Lala Lajpatrai College. Similar lectures were arranged by Dharmashakti Sena at JES College (Parel), Maharshi Dayanand College (Haffkin), Ruparel College (Dadar), Ruia College (Matunga), Khalsa College (Matunga), Keerti College (Dadar), Jai Hind College (Churchgate), R. D. National College (Bandra), Maharashtra High School (Dadar), Chhabildas Junior College, Shardashram Junior College and other colleges on the topic. About 1500 students from schools and colleges attended the guidance.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had organized a quiz contest on the said topic at Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje School, Santa Cruz (E), Wadia High School, D. N. Nagar, Andheri (W), Prabhu Seminary High School and Chikitsak High School, Girgaum, a private coaching class at Pratikshanagar (Wadala), Shivaji School, Kala Chowki (Parel), Dnyanamrut Classes, Tungagao (Powai), school at Sarsole, Nerul.

Central Mumbai

Students from Deepak Tutorials, Bhandup studying at Sahyadri School explained to the vendor selling plastic flags outside the class about abuse of National Flag. Shiv Sena branch at Pantnagar in Ghatkopar and Datta Digambar Housing Society presented the topic and the present position of the Nation before their members.

West Mumbai

Lectures were organized at Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje School, Santa Cruz (E), Nagari Niwara School, Municipal School, Malad, in private coaching classes viz. Saraswati, Nutantai and Shruti Classes in Malad as also at Thakur sheth Pada Mandal, Trupti Building, Andheri (W), Aramnagar, Versova etc.

An organization called ‘Akhand Bharat’ from Vile Parle had organized a rally on the occasion of 15th August which was attended by about 200 people with active participation of HJS members. The rally started at Shivaji Chowk, Koldongari and was concluded at Sai Mandir, Kunkuwadi, Vile Parle (E).

The participants joining the rally were raising slogans with great enthusiasm. Mr. Baba Kulkarni, Mumbai city-president of BJP, Mr. Chandrakant Pawar, BJP municipal councilor and Mr. Shashikant Patkar, Shiv Sena municipal councilor also joined the rally that was concluded with singing of National Anthem. Students of Sattu Kadam School, Palghar, Zilha Parishad School, Taps Colony, Boisar were given guidance on the occasion of 15th August.

New Mumbai

The topic of abuse of National Flag was presented before Rotary Club of New Mumbai, Vashi so also for teachers from municipal schools and students from 5th to 7th standards of Shiva Saraswati School, Kharghar. Banners were displayed at 3 schools and 7 temples from Airoli about the National Flag.

Mrs. Shubhangi Ghumkar gave guidance on the occasion of 15th August at New City Saraswati School, Murvigaon (Kharghar) which was attended by 100 students. Mrs. Indira Kunder helped students to solve the quiz contest based on Independence Day.

An article on the history of Vande Mataram published in Dainik Sanatan Prabhat was given prominence by newspapers like Dainik Mumbai Lakshdeep, ‘Mumbai Sandhya’, ‘Vruttamanas’, Aapla Vartahar. Newspaper ‘Nave Shahar’ from New Mumbai published article on ‘Honour National Flag’. The invaluable information on the topic reached about 2, 75, 000 readers.

Raigad

A representation was submitted to the Tehsildar at Tala on behalf of HJS demanding ban on use of plastic National Flags. Mr. Suresh Purohit, Vishwas Mauskar, Kishore Pitale, Ganesh Bamane, Chandrakant Bhoir were the HJS members present on the occasion. 20 children from ‘Bal sanskar’ classes from Khanda Colony, Panvel explained the topic of abuse of National Flags to citizens. HJS conducted lectures on the said topic at Raigad Zilha Parishad School, Asudgaon; Panvel Nagar Parishad Primary School No. 5, Motha Khanda, Sree Ganesh Vidya Mandir, Dhakate Khande and Prerana Classes, Khanda Colony. More than 400 students attended the lectures. Mrs. Vandana Apte, spoke about revolutionaries to the students from 1st to 10th standards of Siddhivinayak School, Sector 11, Kamothe besides speaking about importance of National Flags on the occasion of Independence Day. The guidance was attended by 115 students and 10 teachers. Information on national Flags was also given to students from 4th standard at Late Sushama Patil School.

Lasalgaon

A drive to prevent abuse of National Flags was undertaken by HJS in Lasalgaon. A representation on the topic was submitted at the local police station. As a result, a police constable was sent to all shops advising the vendors to stop sale of plastic National Flags and not a single plastic Flag was sold in Lasalgaon.
