Kolhapur (Maharashtra): The proposed anti-riots Act i.e. ‘Communal and Targeted Violence Act, 2011’ will restrict freedom of Hindus. As per the Act, majority i.e. Hindus will not have right to verify the accusations made against them by minorities. This Act will, however, not be applicable in the State like Kashmir where Hindus are in minority; therefore, Hindus should strongly oppose this Act. The above views were expressed by advocate Mr. Veerendra Ichalkaranjikar. In response to his appeal, all pro-Hindus made a resolve to oppose the proposed Act with unity. Mr. Ichalkaranjikar gave lecture at Hindu Ekata Andolan hall on two consecutive days between 7.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. on the proposed Act. He explained the proposed Act in detail along with its adverse effects. Many chiefs of pro-Hindu organizations got their doubts clarified after which the above resolve was made.
Chiefs of 30 pro-Hindu organizations like Mr. Dilip Bhivate, the Regional Vice President of Hindu Ekata Andolan, Mr. Mahesh Jadhav, the District President of BJP, advocate Sampatrao Powar, the President of Bar Association, VHP’s advocate Mr. Sudhir Joshi-Bandurkar, Mr. Raju Yadav, Shiv Sena’s Karveer taluka-chief, Mr. Hindurao Shelake, Mr. Sambhaji Kharade, Mr. Chandrakant Barale, Mr. Shivajirao Sase of Hindu Ekata Andolan, Mr. Rajendra Shinde, the city-President of Hindu Mahasabha, Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Mr. Madhukar Nazare and Mr. Shivanand Swami etc. were present on the occasion.
