Many people think that so-called St. Francis Xavier had nothing to do with #GoaInquisition. But it was Xavier only who had asked Portugal King permission to carry out Inquisition in Goa. His name should be removed from colleges, places etc. for such brutality !#Stop_Conversions pic.twitter.com/72XWW2eXSi

The #GoaInquisition punished those who had converted to Catholicism but were suspected by Jesuit clergy of practising their previous religion in secret. Those targeted were accused of Crypto-Hinduism

It was St. Francis Xavier, who for the first time, brought torture, violence, intimidation and terror to Goa to force native Indians to convert to Catholic Christians.#GoaDay It was on this day when goa was liberated!#GoaInquisition #Stop_Conversions@shriram_l@ShefVaidya pic.twitter.com/BRwwMj7nGA

#GoaInquisition #Stop_Conversions pic.twitter.com/ObxR30FZKV
