Jose Philip should apologise to Hindus for insulting Sri Ganesh ! - BJP

Denigration of Sri Ganesh by Goa Revenue Minister by getting his photo printed with the picture of Sri Ganesh on bags containing pulses

Vasco (Goa): On the occasion of Sri Ganesh Festival, the State Revenue Minister of Goa, Mr. Jose Philips D’Souza is distributing , for free, bags containing pulses to the citizens; but he has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus by getting picture of Sri Ganesh printed along with his own photograph on the packets of grains so distributed by him. He should, therefore, render apology to all Hindus, was the demand made by Mr. Rajendra Arlekar, the spokesperson of BJP during a press conference held here recently. Hindu voters are being distributed packets of oil and grains by the Revenue Minister. ( In view of the forthcoming elections of Goa State Legislative Assembly, distributing oil and pulses for free is like bribing the voters. This is also a type of corruption. Democratic rule of candidates, getting elected with such method of making voters helpless, is of no use. Hindus, who accept such bait from ministers, are also party to corruption. Will the Government conduct inquiry into the sources of income of these ministers ? – Editor SP)

On the bags, there is a photograph of the Revenue Minister along the side of Sri Ganesh’s picture. We have no objection to the Revenue Minister distributing pulses; (By saying so, Mr. Arlekar of BJP is approving corruption ! – Editor SP) but printing own photo on the bags has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. Mr. Arlekar also accused the Minister of being in the habit of hurting sentiments of Hindus. Earlier, Mr. D’Souza had put up photographs of his deceased parents outside Hindu temple. Mr. Arlekar reminded that the photographs were removed after Hindus raised voice against the same. He also accused that Mr. D’Souza has been doing such things deliberately against Hindus.
