Dombivali (Maharashtra): It was observed by Mrs. Amruta Sambhus, an activist of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) that the washerman who went to her house every day, used to wear a ‘Cross’ around his neck. Mrs. Sambhus told him, “When we are Hindus, why should we wear a ‘Cross’ worn by Christians ? If one wants to wear some pendant, one can wear it with picture of Hindu Deity. Will Christians ever wear a pendant with picture of Hindu Deity around their neck?” The washerman then removed the ‘Cross’. Mrs. Sambhus gave a pendant to the washerman with picture of Lord Hanuman which he has started wearing now.
