Hindus, are you living in India or in Pakistan?

Malshiras (Dist. Solapur), 14th September – The staff of Archeology Department are not allowing the natives to perform ‘puja’ at the famous ‘Ardhnari Nateshwar Mahadev’ Temple in Velapur. (Who has given right to the staff of Archeology Department to create obstacles in the religious rituals of Hindus? By raising such objection, what archeological constructions are they preserving? Will these staff members interfere in the religious matters of followers of other religions? Lack of unity among Hindus lead to such things ! – Editor SP) Warning was given by the residents of Velapur through a representation submitted to the District Collector that there would be strong agitations, if action was not taken against the said staff. (Congratulations to the residents of Velapur for uniting and registering their protest in lawful manner for protection of their right to perform religious rituals ! – Editor SP)

The representation complaining about the above matter was submitted to Velapur Police Station, District Police Chief, Tehsildar and the District Collector. It has been mentioned in the representation that, ‘This is an ancient temple with Hemad Sect type of construction. It is the responsibility of Archeology Department to look after the said temple. Traditions of performing ‘puja’ and other religious rituals are being carried out by Gaurihar and Mahadev Gurav families. During the ‘Chaturmaas’, other religious rituals are also performed here on large scale; but the officer Mr. Jangale of Archeology Department and employees Mr. Karche and Wagh raised objection to perform religious rituals and are creating obstacles. This has hurt religious sentiments of the local residents. If action is not taken within 15 days against the concerned, Pune – Pandharpur road will be blocked as part of agitation. We give this warning to you.’
