Blind faith Act is for harassing the devotees and religious leaders

Latur: Existing clauses under Indian Penal Code are capable to take care of offences related to blind faith. The police department has also confirmed that the existing laws are adequate; but to please a handful of atheists, State Government has proposed the said Act. If such Act is passed, it would become difficult to study Holy Scriptures like ‘Vedas’, to recite various Stotras like HanumanStotra etc. Atheists would misuse the said Act and harass devotees. H.H. Swami Govind Devgiri Maharaj gave the above warning.

At Mahatma Gandhi Chowk in Latur, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) along with other Hindu Organizations and political parties has started a demonstration campaign against the proposed Acts, viz. Removal of Blind Faith and Taking Over Management of Temples. H. H. Swami Govind Devgiri Maharaj visited the place for extending his support. He also guided the participants on the occasion. H. H. Swamiji said further that the atheist chief minister will harass every religious leader which will be a great insult of democracy. No religious leader was consulted before passing such Act. Persons propagating such Act are all atheists. Most of the words used in framing the said Act are anti-Hindus. Regarding ‘Taking over Management of Temples’ Act, he said that the Govt. is now preparing itself to loot temples since all other avenues to loot ordinary people are closed.

Hindus belonging to various Sects, members of political parties and staunch Hindus actively joined hands with Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in the demonstrations. The demonstrations are helping to make people aware of the anti-religion motives of the State Government. People of Latur have demanded annulment of all anti-Hindu laws. HJS has circulated a pamphlet giving opinions of legal experts regarding clauses of the Acts. This has resulted in creating awareness among people about fallacy of the Act. Whilst talking on the further course of action, Shri. Bunge of HJS said that till the Acts are not withdrawn, the campaign will go on with higher intensity and it will be taken to all parts of Maharashtra. Present agitations at Latur will go on till 10th December. A protest march will be taken on the Legislative Assembly at Nagpur. HJS has made an appeal to people to join the march in great numbers.
