Mumbai: The Central Government is trying to pass proposed anti-communal riots (Communal and targeted violence Bill 2011) Bill which will do injustice to the majority Hindus under the guise of providing protection to minorities. The Act will be against Hindus and lead to elimination of Hindus. Majority Hindus will be treated as ‘accused’. This is a conspiracy against Hindus when the existing laws are capable of tackling the problems. This Act, if passed, can cause problem for the peace and integrity of the Nation; besides, the Act is not applicable only for riot cases but action will be taken against Hindus for their propagation, written or verbal, against minorities, speeches, demonstrations etc. The proposed Act is not acceptable to majority so also to the Chief Ministers of various States. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), therefore, made a demand by staging demonstrations near Dadar Railway Station between 5.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. to cancel the proposed Act. About 50 devout Hindus took part in the demonstrations. Nearly 750 citizens put their signature on the representation obtained under the signature drive carried out by HJS to oppose the said Act.
The atmosphere was resonating with slogans raised by demonstrators like ‘Cancel such ‘Tughalqui’ Act imposing oppressive restrictions on Hindus’, Immediately overthrow the Government which aims to treat Hindus as oppressors’, ‘Condemn anti-communal riots’Bill’ etc.

Highlights

1. Five Hindus were so impressed with the activities undertaken by HJS that they offered to join all HJS activities in future.

2. Devout Hindu Mr. Satish Tiwari distributed bottles of drinking water to the demonstrators.

3. The representation with signatures of Hindus will be sent to the Central Government.
