HJS drive to stop denigration of Hindu Deities and great national heroes taking place through crackers

Mumbai: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has undertaken a drive for the past 8 years to stop production and sale of crackers wherein their covers are printed with pictures of Deities and great national heroes. For this drive, HJS has been in correspondence with the State Government and fighting for the cause in lawful manner. As a part of this drive, a representation was submitted to the Mumbai District Collector, Mr. Chandrashekhar Oak at his office.
He said that the activities undertaken by HJS are good. Its drive in respect of crackers is commendable. He also assured to request the State Government by writing a letter besides issuing letters to Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Police Commissioner for taking necessary action. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the District – coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad and Mr. Satish Sonar, an activist of the organization were present on the occasion.
