Denigration of Shivling by periodical ‘JAM’
Feelings of thousands of Hindus have been hurt under the excuse of creating awareness among people about AIDS. On 3rd page of the said magazine, there is a small picture of ‘Qutub Minar’ under which only the words ‘khada hai’ have been published. On page 9 of the periodical, a picture of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has been published under which similar half a sentence has been written. It clearly shows their intention of making mockery of only Hindu deities. Below such pictures, a sentence has been written as ‘Issued in public interest by ‘JAM’ for World AIDS Day’.
Thus the editorial section of the magazine has tried to use their imagination and get away with their abominable Act with expectations of people taking such matter lightly. Students from about 300 colleges all over the country send matter to this magazine for publishing. An active member of VHP from Thane, on noticing such mockery, lodged a complaint with the police and warned to hold intense demonstrations if immediate action is not taken. The police commissioner has issued an order to confiscate all the copies of the magazines and further investigate the matter. All copies have since been taken away from the publisher and printing press; but the publisher and editor could not be traced.

Shri. Ramesh Shinde the spokesperson of HJS said that anyone and everyone is trying patience of tolerance among Hindus and ridiculing their deities. In case, the guilty is arrested, he immediately renders an apology and not only gets away with his offense but also gets ready to repeat the offense. Such things will not be tolerated now. A charge has to be brought against the editor and strict action has to be taken against him. Members of HJS were raising slogans and displaying placards during the demonstrations. Media persons from various channels were present.
The matter has been taken note of by the Social Welfare branch of the police and it has been learnt that a case has been filed against the editor and publisher of the magazine. A complaint has also been lodged at Panvel police station by a member of HJS in the presence of members of different religious institutions and political parties.
