Jalgaon (Maharashtra): There are pictures of Hindu Deities and great national heroes printed on the crackers burst during Diwali festival on large scale. The pictures are torn into pieces when crackers are burst and these pieces later, get trampled on the roads. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has undertaken a drive, for the past 8 years, to prevent denigration of Deities taking place through such medium. The Government has also issued an order to that effect; but due to indifference in implementation of the said order, denigration of deities has been going on without any curb.  The Government should, therefore, implement the order effectively. A representation to the above effect was submitted to the District Administration of Jalgaon and Nandurbar on behalf of HJS recently.  The delegation that submitted such representation to the District Collector, Jalgaon comprised of Mr. Narendra Patil of ‘Patanjali Yoga’, Mr. Dilip Patil, Vijay Joshi, Pankaj Dabi, Satish Bagul, Chetan Chaudhary, Miss Swati Chaudhary and Miss Bhavana Kadam.

Highlights : Mr. Shekhar Pardeshi, the President of Cracker Traders Association made an appeal to all retail sellers for not selling crackers with pictures of Deities. While submitting a representation to the District Collector of Jalgaon, Mr. Mohan Tiwari, the dy. city chief of Shiv Sena, Mr. Jagadish Shimpi, Amol Shinde, Rahul Joshi, Mrs. Anita Pol, Gajanan Tambat, Somnath Mene and Miss Pratiksha Korgaonkar of HJS were present.
