Sangli(Maharashtra) : Government is trying to pass an Act that will eradicate faith in religious rituals of people from all religions. This Act is detrimental to spiritual organizations and ‘Warakari Sampradaya’.Thousands of ‘Warakaris’ had resorted to ‘road blocking’ agitation in the year 2007 by holding up the procession of ‘Saint Dnyaneshwar’s palakhi’. If this Bill is passed, it can be misused and impose restrictions on religious rights of people; therefore, the said Bill should not be passed. Memorandum with the above demands was submitted by H. B. P. Ramakant Bongale Maharaj, the coordinator of ‘Sangli Zilha Warakari Sampradaya’ to the Deputy Chief Minister (Dy. CM) Ajit Pawar. Similar memorandum was also submitted by Mr. Dattatreya Retharekar of HJS to Dy. CM when he had come to Sangli in connection with a program.
