Inauguration of Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha by lighting a Samai (an oil lamp)


Kerur (Dist. Badami, Karnataka) :
A Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha was organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samithi which  was held in Kerur in Badami district, Karnataka.The sabha was inaugurated with the lighting of lamp (deepa) by His Holiness Abhinava Sri Oppateshwar Mahaswamiji of Oppatheshwar Math at 5.30 pm on 20.11.2011. The chanting of Veda Mantra was done.

The various activities of the Samiti were shown to the audience through a video. Ms. Prema Gouda of Sanatan Sanstha addressed the audience and described briefly about the Sanstha, and Sanatan Prabhat.The programme was  compered by  Ms..Kavitha Sakri and Ms. Mahalaxmi.  MS. Sphoorti Benakanwari of Sanatan Sanstha said,’ the primary aim of Sanatan Sanstha is to spread the importance of Hindu Dharma all over the world. The research made by His Holiness. Dr.Jayant Balaji Athavale is simply immeasurable ! He founded Sanatan Sanstha with the blessings of His Sadguru H.H.. Bhaktaraj Maharaj’. She also explained about the activities of Sanatan Sanstha and about sadhana. Everyone should follow the principles of Dharma .

Mr. Venkataramana Naik,of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti while addressing the masses, said, ‘ If we protect Dharma, Dharma will protect us. So following Dharma is a must. Our country, India has a wonderful power’. Shri. Oppateshwar Mahaswami of  Oppateshwar math, Guledgudda said, ‘ We remember our mother land as soon as we get up, because she teaches us the real sanskars (Basic priciples ) of life.A Mother has a very valuable status in Sanatan sanskruti’. He also stressed on the importance of kumkum.Around 405 devout Hindus were present. The decision of the samithi and oath regarding the further action was taken by Mr. Venkataraman Naik. The sabha ended with the singing of Vande Mataram by Ms.Maheshwari and  by paying gratitude.
                    
 Highlights of the Sabha :-

1. Around70 Hindus were present for discussion after the programme.
2. Many of them agreed to distribute more than 3000 hand bills and to send 250 small messages.
3. One devout lady agreed to distribute 1000 handbills single handedly.
4. Through out the programme, 2 devout Hindus stayed back to pack up .            
5. During the discussion, A devout Hindu gave a demand for 10 calenders  .
