Denigration of Shri Ganesh by Mahesh Arts

Denigration of Shri Ganesh by Mahesh Arts

Mumbai : ‘Mahesh Arts’ a famous company from Shivkashi in Tamil Nadu manufactures stationery. The company has now manufactured colouring books for small children. There is denigration of Deities like Shri Ganesha, Krushna and Hanuman in these books. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts sent a protest letter to the company for such denigration. The company has given an assurance to stop manufacture of these books. (If every Hindu becomes alert like Mr. Vatkar, cases of denigration of Hindu Deities will stop automatically. – Editor SP)

Mr. Vatkar had received this book while traveling in a local train in Mumbai. On realizing that sale of these books was quite high through shops, he contacted Mr. Mahesh of ‘Mahesh Arts’ over phone. Mr. Vatkar told him about denigration and sent a protest letter to him. It has been mentioned in the letter that Deities like Sri Ganesha, Krushna, Hanuman etc. have been shown as playing different musical instruments in an orchestra; they are riding on  scooter, cycle etc. This has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. It is also an offence under Indian Trademarks Act. Mr. Mahesh replied to the letter in positive manner rendering apology with an assurance to stop manufacture of such books resulting in causing damage to Dharma. He also wrote a letter and called up to inform that he would stop such damage and would extend help in such matters.
