Birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmi Bai celebrated by HJS at Mumbai

Mumbai : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Shiv Sena Branch No. 188 jointly celebrated birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmi Bai according to Hindu calendar at Worli Koliwada. Mrs. Hemangi Worlikar, wife of deputy area-chief of Shiv Sena, Mr. Harish Worlikar narrated the story of bravery exhibited by Rani Laxmibai while fighting single-handedly with the British. She also lauded the activities undertaken by HJS and promised to take part in various drives of HJS.

Mrs. Sanskruti Sagavekar of HJS said, “Today, a Hindu woman needs to be strong like Rani Lakshmi Bai rather than being a weakling. Many Dangers will have to be fought keeping ideal of Rani Lakshmi Bai before us. There is a need to impart ‘Dharmashikshan’ for the same.” The women attending the program were appealed to join self-defence classes conducted by HJS.

The program started with reciting ‘shloka’ of Shri Durgadevi and was compeered by Miss Sneha Nanavare. About 65 persons attended the program.
