Sangli (Maharashtra) : Logo of the defaming Shri Ganesh was prepared for the 92nd ‘Akhil Bharatiya Natya Sammelan’ at Sangli. Shri Ganesh, worshipped by millions of people was ridiculed in the logo. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and other Hindutvawadi organisations opposed it vehemently. The organising Committee, the erstwhile and present president of the Sammelan, so also the police were given representations asking for changing the logo. Finally the Committee agreed to make the necessary changes and removed the ridiculing portion from the logo. (Congratulations to all the Hindutvawadi organisations for stopping the denigration of Shri Ganesh ! Let other Hindus be inspired by this and let them take initiative to stop this kind of denigration anywhere in the country ! – Editor SP)

HJS is going to submit a public interest petition to the Theatre Censor Board to avoid denigration !
On the whole to avoid any loss to theatre, they should in future refuse permission to stage plays of denigrating nature. Due respect be given to God and Dharma. HJS is seriously thinking of submitting a public interest petition to the Theatre Censor Board in this regard.’
The press note issued by HJS says, ‘At present a remix of modern and ancient stories are creating plays of a denigrating nature. (For example modern Mahabharat, modern Ramayan etc) which denigrate Deities instead of cultivating art. Thereafter the opposition to such plays gives rise to a law and order problem and audience also avoids watching such disputed plays.

Mr. Hanmantrao Pawar, Mr. Nitin , Mr. Sachin Pawar, Mr. Dilip Patil, Mr. Krishna Yadav of Srishivpratishthan; Mr. Haridas Padalkar, Mr. Siddheshwar Patil of the Shiv Sena; Mr. Abhimanyu Bhosle, the president of Yuva Morcha, BJP, Mr. Shrikant Shinde , Mr.Suresh Gaudgao, Mr. Kedar Khadilkar, president of Brahman Sabha; Mr. Dattatray Retharekar of HJS and other Hindutva vadi organisations and Parties took the initiative to change the logo. MLA Mr. Bhavanrao Salunkhe had also given a letter on his letterhead to the president of Natya Parishad, Mr. Hemant Takle in this regard. (Proud Hindus taking initiative to avoid the denigration by Natya Parishad are the energy of Hindu Dharma ! – Editor SP)

Sangli (Maharashtra) : There is denigration of Shri Ganesha on the emblem prepared for ‘All-India Marathi Natya Sammelan’.  What right the organizers of such ‘Sammelan’ have to hurt religious sentiments of Hindus, was the question asked by angry deputy-city chief of Shiv Sena, Mr. Haridas Padalkar. He warned Mr. Shrikant Moghe, the President of ‘Natya Sammelan’ that in case he did not take note of the denigration, an intense agitation would be undertaken.  Mr. Moghe had gone to Sangli to attend a program when Mr. Dattatreya Retharekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Mr. Padalkar met him and submitted a representation for removal of the emblem. Mr. Moghe said that he would discuss the matter with the organizing committee and take decision.
