The illustration in ‘DNA India’

Mumbai: A news item was published recently in ‘DNA India’ newspaper regarding a temple being constructed of Ravan at Jodhpur in Rajasthan. ‘DNA India’ has published the news under a heading ‘What is Ram without Ravan?’ In this news, a cartoon is also given wherein Ravan idol is shown in the temple and ‘Dhanurdhari’ Sree Ram is looking at Ravan with utter astonishment.

Shri. Sandeep Vaity, a seeker of Sanatan Sanstha, a spiritual organization and member of HJS has sent an email to the website of ‘DNA India’ pointing out to them denigration of the deity caused due to such cartoon. The letter is available on the website for viewing. The matter in Shri. Vaity’s letter is as given below.
The heading of the news item is wrong and causes denigration of the deity. Sree Rama is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The very purpose of His life was to destroy demons like Ravana. The heading of your news item connotes an improper meaning. It has become a fashion to acclaim demonic characters, e.g. constructing a temple of Ravana, showing a serial on Ravana on TV etc. Such things can influence our young generation in a wrong way. It is not expected of a newspaper like ‘DNA India’. We are sure that in future, you will be careful about publishing matters that are detrimental to Hindu Dharma.?
