HJS submits representations to District Collectors of Mumbai and suburbs as also to DGP !

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted representations to the District Collector of Mumbai and suburbs; so also to Director General of Police (DGP), Maharashtra State for preventing abuse of National Flag occurring on 26th January, Republic Day. HJS drive received good response from both, the District Collector and Police Officer.

HJS has been undertaking this drive for the past 8 years under the name of ‘Maintain respect of National Flag’ for prevention of abuse of National Flag that takes place on 15th August and 26th January and the response received from the society to the drive is increasing every year. This year too, a memorandum was submitted to Mr. Chandrashekhar Oak, the District Collector of Mumbai and Mr. Nirmal Deshmukh, the District Collector of Mumbai suburbs with his office at Bandra, demanding prevention of abuse of National Flag and imposition of ban on use of plastic flags.  Both the District Collectors said that the HJS drive was commendable and every year, they issue an order to the concerned persons in this connection. Mr. Deshmukh immediately handed over the representation to his secretary, Mr. Sunil Kambale, instructing him to distribute it among all staff including Assistant Police Commissioner and Deputy Police Commissioner.

Similar representation was also submitted to Mr. Gulabrao Pol, the Director General of Police for Maharashtra State for stopping abuse of the National Flag. He too appreciated the drive undertaken by HJS and informed that he would circulate it among all by instructing his personal assistant to issue an order and send it to every police station in the city.

Mr. Sumit Sagavekar, Satish Sonar, Seemit Sarmalkar, Diwakar Agavane of HJS, Mr. Shrihari Malleya, the Priest of Shiva Temple from Bandra and Mrs. Kalpana Niugare, a participant of ‘Dharmashikshan’ class were present on the occasion.
