Mumbai (Maharahstra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), on the occasion of ‘Makar-sankranti’ festival and Republic Day conducted a lecture explaining the significance of Hindu festivals and about its drive named ‘Maintain respect of National Flag’ to students from the night college. 180 students attended the lecture and there was good response from them as well as from the teachers.

Hindus are forgetting their festivals and religious rituals and are celebrating ‘Days’ as celebrated in western countries due to the influence of western culture. We have, therefore, no respect for our great culture. As a result, nobody is bothered about the damage caused to either the country or Dharma. HJS, therefore, held guidance to create awareness among all towards stopping abuse of National Flags on the Republic Day and to explain the significance of ‘Makar-sankranti’ festival.  Mr. Lakshman Jathar, Mr. Chandrakant Bhadirke, Mr. Prasad Mankar and Mrs. Jyoti Parab of HJS were present on the occasion.
