Memorandum submitted to District Collector at Akola

Akola (Maharashtra) : National Flags made of plastic are purchased on 26th January, the Republic Day, which are later found strewn all over the roads and in gutters. This is an abuse of National Flag. Sale of plastic flags should, therefore, be banned. Memorandum with the above demand was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to Mr. Jitendra Wagh, the District Collector of Akola. He assured the activists of HJS to issue a circular within the District in this connection. HJS activists viz. Mr. Dheeraj Raut, Sagar Revekar, Ajay Khot, Chincholkar, Rajesh Kshirsagar and others were present on the occasion. 

HJS submits representation to Tehsildar of Panvel

Panvel (Maharashtra) : After hoisting of flags on Republic Day, plastic and paper flags are found scattered all over the roads or in gutters in torn condition leading to abuse of National Flags. Ban should, therefore, be imposed on manufacture and sale of National Flags made of plastic and paper. A representation to the above effects was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to Tehsildar Kiran Suravase of Panvel when Mr. Shrikant Apate, Mrs. Bunage, Mr. Suryakant Parab and Kunal Patel, members of HJS were present on the occasion. 

Memorandum given to Mayor and Municipal Commissioner of Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation

Thane (Maharashtra) : To prevent abuse of National Flags on 26th January, the Republic Day, taking place through plastic and paper flags, HJS submitted a memorandum to Mr. Kishore H. Berde, the Municipal Commissioner of Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation and Mayor Rajiv Patil. Positive response was received from the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner. Similar representation was also given to senior police inspector Bagvan of Virar police station.

Mr. Rajiv Patil, the Mayor said, “Your movement is most commendable. We will take necessary action in this regard”; whereas the Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Kishore H Berde said, “It is good that you have undertaken such drive. We will issue a circular in this connection.” Mr. Datta Bendre, Mr. Ajit Argekar, Mrs. Archana Argekar, Mrs. Manisha Parab, Narayan Mahale and devout Hindu priest Balasaheb Deshpande were present on the occasion.
