Thane (Maharashtra) : On 26th January i.e. Republic Day, National Flags made of plastic are used on large scale; but later, they are thrown everywhere on the roads causing sacrilege. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has undertaken a drive even this year to prevent abuse of National Flags and as a part of this drive, memorandum was submitted to Police Commissioner K. P. Raghuvanshi of Thane, Dy. District Collector Ashok Yadav, Mayor Mrs. Vaijayanti Gholap-Gujar of Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation, Tehsildar of Kalyan, Nitin Chavan, senior Police Inspector of Ramnagar Police Station, Dombivali Mr. Jadhav, Mr. Ramchandra Sonawane of Vishnunagar Police Station, senior Police Inspector, Mr. Dhanavade of M. Phule Police Station, Kalyan, senior Police Inspector, Mr. Mali of Bazarpeth Police Station, senior Police Inspector, Vijay Bagal of Badalapur (East) Police Station and senior Police Inspector, Angadi from Badalapur (West).
immediately called his personal secretary Mr. Godse and instructed him to issue an order in connection with maintaining honour of the National Flag and send the same to all police stations. He assured the delegation of HJS that orders would be issued to take action against those manufacturing plastic National Flags if names of such persons and place were informed to the police.
Mr. Ashok Yadav, the resident Deputy District Collector of Thane lauded the drive undertaken by HJS and acknowledged that the abuse of National Flags was considerably reduced due to HJS efforts. He also said that orders would be issued to Municipal Corporation and everyone working under him. HJS members Mrs. Savita Lele, Mrs. Seema Bhor, Mrs. Prachi Kulkarni, Mrs. Rashmi Prabhu, Pratik Joshi, Sunanda Joshi, Mrs. Natu, Mr. Abhijit Bhojane, Chandrakant Parab, Hari Prabhu, Sandip Agnihotri, Rakesh Godambe, Purushottam Walve, Ramchandra Vaidya and Dr. Upendra Dahake, the president of BJP’s Medical Front for Kalyan city comprised the delegation when memorandum was submitted to police and other administrative officers.
