An appeal was given to the Tahshildar, Education Officer, and the Police Superintendent on 20th January, 2012 on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for preventing the degradation of our national flag.

The center coordinator and volunteers of the Samiti explained to the Tahshildar – Mr. Mahesh Karjigi, Education officer – Mr. Suresh Huggi and the Superintendent of Police – Mr. D.D. Dhulkhed about how our national flag is being degraded and insulted and an appeal was given on the same context.

Hubli (Karnataka) :
On 19th January, 2012, a memorandum regarding the use of plastic flags on our republic day, 26th January was given to the Tahshildar. Also a memorandum regarding the defamation of Swami Vivekananda was submitted to the Tahshildar in Hubli. 10 members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were present there.

The Tahshildar, Mr. Biradar promised that the memorandum will be sent to the CM immediately and also informed HJS members that a circular regarding the ban on usage of plastic flags is already passed.

Samiti members Mrs. Sudha Awari and Mrs. Vidula Haldipur also met the ACP of Sub-Urban Police Station and submitted the memorandum regarding Plastic flags seen on 26th January.

An appeal was given to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police on the context of preventing the degradation of our national flag.

Raichur (Karnataka) : The Republic day, January 26th and our Independence day, Aug 15th should ideally be celebrated with great pomp and respect; whereas, on these days we see many plastic flags lying on the roads and in the gutters. Helplessly we have to see this defaming scene of utter disrespect to our national flag.

An appeal was given on this context, to the Deputy Commissioner of Raichur. 20 devout Hindus and journalists of local cable channels and news papers received the news of this appeal.

Kuduru (Magadi Taluka, Ramanagar District, Karnataka) :
Workers of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti visited President of Grama Panchayat of Kuduru and explained that Prajavani, a Kannada Daily news paper had published an article on 16th January, 2012 which explains that Swami Vivekananda was an ordinary person, he was a smoker, meat eater and not an intelligent student in his school days. The intention behind the article was clear that the writer Dinesh Amminamattu, a converted Christian wants to defame Swami Vivekananda. In order to stop this type of denigration activities, HJS workers handed over a memorandum. HJS workers Mrs. Pratibha, Mr. Raghavendra Patil, Mr. Nanjegouda were there in the team. Mr. Dayananda reporter of Vijayakarnataka Kannada Daily news paper covered the news and published in the news paper. Mr. Dayanand is a Dharmabhimani and supports HJS.
