Mumbai : National Flags made of paper and plastic are used on large scale on Republic Day.  These flags are found lying on the roads and in gutters once flag hoisting is over. This is abuse of National Flags. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) undertook a drive to prevent such abuse and for maintaining honour of National Flags. Representations were submitted at various places to Tehsildars, police, mayor etc. and awareness was created among people by making appeal to them to maintain honour of national flags.

Representation submitted to Mulund Tehsildar and Ghatkopar (West) Police Station

Mumbai : Representation was submitted to Tehsildar Vinod Gosavi, Kurla to Mulund area, by visiting his office  demanding prevention of abuse of National Flag. BJP MLA Tara Singh elected from Mulund tried to understand the topic when contacted and immediately joined HJS activists in meeting Tehsildar. He instructed the concerned to take immediate steps for prevention of abuse of National Flag. MLA Sardar Tara Singh appreciated HJS activities. The delegation that called on Tehsildar comprised of Mr. Satish Sonar, Mr. Kashiram Parab, MLA Sardar Tara Singh, Bajarang Dal coordinator Mr. Ramesh Gupta and Mr. K. Rajkumar, the ‘Mahamantri – Zopadpatti Janata Parishad’.

Representation was given to Mr. Charudatta Zendekar, senior Police Inspector at Ghatkopar (W) Police Station by Mr. Pradip Sawant, former municipal councilor of Shiv Sena, Mr. Sandip Rane, the President of Swar-raj Pratishthan, Mr. Satish Sonar and Damodar Reddy of HJS.      

Drive to create awareness among people undertaken at Ghatkopar

Mumbai : HJS undertook a drive creating awareness among citizens towards this issue. 19 activists of HJS took part and explained the subject to citizens near Welcome Hotel in Ghatkopar (W).         

Memorandum submitted to Tehsildar and police at Mahad

Mahad : Memorandum was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to Tehsildar and police station demanding ban on manufacture and sale of National Flags made of plastic and paper. Mr. Suresh Purohit, Mrs. Archana Karve, Mrs. Jyoti Murudkar, Mr. Vinayak Wadkar and Mr. Gholap of HJS were present on the occasion.

Memorandum submitted to Mayor and Tehsildar at Dhule

Dhule : HJS submitted Memorandum to Mayor of Dhule Municipal Corporation and Tehsildar of Rajura, Chandrapur District. While submitting representation to Mayor Mrs. Manjula Gavit, Mr. Hiraman Appa Gawali, Mr. Sagar Chaudhary of Loksangram Party, Mr. Baban Thorat and Mr. Poddar of Shiv Sena were present. At Rajura, Mr. Namdeo Urkade, Suresh Bobde, Vinod Kongre, Manu Tiwari, Mayur Gaurkar, Amit Jaipurkar, Ravi Buradkar, Bandal Bele and Mangesh Shriram were present when memorandum was submitted to Tehsildar.

Representation submitted to Dy. area officer at Vani and to Tehsildar at Maregaon

Vani (Dist. Yeotmal) : A representation was submitted to the Deputy Area Officer Mr. Varhate at Vani and Tehsildar Khandave at Maregaon. Mr. Mahaveo Girsavale, Pradip Umbarkar, Dattabhau Tikhat, Bhaskar Navale etc. attending Dharmashikshan classes were present on the occasion.

Lecture by Sanatan Sanstha Raigad Trust

Panvel : Guidance by Sanatan Sanstha was held for students from 5th to 9th standard of Grampanchayat School,  Nere High School, Vihinghar on maintaining honour of National Flag which was attended by 225 students. Shashikala Bhagat from the Trust guided the students. School teachers also attended the program.

‘Rashtrajagruti’ program by ‘Gurukrupa Pratishthan’ at Mumbai

Mumbai :
A drive was undertaken to create awareness and generate patriotism among the future generation of the country by ‘Gurukrupa Pratishthan’. As a part of this drive, a quiz contest was conducted for students at Mukund Vidyamandir School in Mulund followed with a lecture on ‘Honour of National Flag is true patriotism’. Mrs. Pranali Kocharekar of the ‘Pratishthan’ explained the importance of National Flag and reminded students of sacrifices made by the revolutionaries for freedom of this country. Mr. Chaudhary, the Principal of the school extended valuable support to the said drive. More than 450 students spontaneously took part in the drive.
