HJS submits demand to Opposition leader Mr. Tawade for teaching ‘Srimat Bhagavat Geeta’ in schools and colleges

Like Madhya Pradesh, our neighbouring State, the holy book ‘Srimat Bhagavat Geeta’ should be taught in schools and colleges even in Maharashtra, was the demand made by Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district coordinator of HJS with Mr. Vinod Tawade, the Opposition leader in State Legislative Council. Mr. Vatkar brought it to the notice of Mr. Tawade that Bhopal High Court has granted permission to the State of Madhya Pradesh for teaching the holy book ‘Bhagavat Geeta’.

Presently, ‘Vipashyana’ followed in Buddhism, is taught in some schools in Maharashtra to keep the stress and strain under control. The Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Government, Mr. Ratnakar Gaikwad took initiative in issuing such orders whereas to inculcate moral values in youth and for individual as well as collective happiness of people of the State, it is necessary to teach ‘Srimat Bhagavat Geeta’. Maharashtra Government should take a decision in this connection. HJS made a demand that in all schools and colleges, ‘Srimat Bhagavat Geeta’ should be taught at least for one hour every day.
