The denigrated image in ‘DNA India’ website
Staunch Hindus Shri. Sandeep Vaity and Mrs. Sandhya Mangale, has written to Smt. Gayatri Desai that by drawing such picture, she has made mockery of Hindu Gods worshipped with so much of devotion by Hindus and hurt their feelings. Pictures of deities should be drawn as per the science of sculpture. No one can play with feelings of Hindus under the name of modern art and individual freedom; such ridicule will not be tolerated. Gayatri Desai claims that she does ‘puja’ everyday. Nobody will perform ‘puja’ of such caricatures of Gods leave aside awakening of ‘Bhava’ for the deities.
When a picture of Prophet Mohammad was published in a newspaper published in Denmark, Muslims, all over the world, protested. In a film titled ‘The Sin’, Christian Missionaries were shown in a wrong perspective when Christians also condemned the film. Some of the States even imposed a ban on showing the film in theatres. Hindus are peace-loving, secular and abstemious, that does not mean that anyone and everyone can play with their feelings. The seeker has appealed to all Hindu fraternity to protest against the exhibition. Another letter written to Smt. Gayatri Desai says that the picture of deities drawn by her has no ‘sattvikata’ in them. How would one feel if a caricature of our family member is drawn and someone tries to ridicule them? Instead of trying to acquire God’s grace, Smt. Gayatri is inviting their wrath by drawing such pictures. D.N.A should not publish such pictures in future.
