Pune (Maharashtra) : There is democratic rule in this country. The elected representatives should take people into confidence; discuss the issues with them before passing of any Act. Maharashtra Government, however, is trying to pass the anti-superstition Act without taking people into consideration which is very wrong and it is necessary to stage agitation against the obstinacy of the Government. The above views were expressed by Mr. Anna Hazare. In the huge premises of Jagatguru Tukaram Maharaj’s Gatha Temple, ‘Satsang Bhavan’ has been constructed at Dehu. Mr. Anna Hazare had come for its inauguration when Warakaris and representatives of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) met him. A representation was submitted to Shri. Anna Hazare considering the Government’s ploy to once again present the anti-superstitions Act in the forthcoming session of Legislative Assembly.  The draft of the proposed Act and booklet published by HJS on this Act was given to Mr. Anna Hazare when he expressed the above views. He also promised to study the issue and take decision before the start of the Assembly session.

Representatives of Warakari Sampradaya, viz. H. B. P. Pandurang Maharaj Dhule, H. B. P. Bapusaheb Dehukar Maharaj, H. B. P. Shivaji More Maharaj, H. B. P. Narahari Maharaj Chaudhary, H. B. P. Krushnaji Ranjane Maharaj, H. B. P. Kalokhe Maharaj and Mr. Sunil Ghanavat of HJS were present on the occasion.

A meeting of all warakaris from Warakari Sampradaya, Fadkari, Dindi owners –operators is going to be held on the occasion of ‘Tukaram Beej’ when further course of action on opposing the proposed Act likely to be presented in the Legislative Assembly session will be finalized.
