HJS and Shivala Gramastha Mandal hold program on the occasion of ‘Shiva-jayanti’

Murbad (Maharashtra) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) along with ‘Shivala Gramastha Mandal’ organized a program at Shivala on the occasion of ‘Shiva-jayanti’. A lecture by Mr. Prasad Vadake of HJS was arranged on the occasion. There was very good response from people and about 250 devout citizens attended the program. People from nearby villages like Ambola, Vadacha Pada, Malhed, Dehnoli, Khateghar, Shiroshipada, Kondesakhare, Kalamkhande, Koravale and Shivala came for the program.

        Mr. Vadake narrated important events from the life history of Chhatrapati Shivaraya explaining his qualities. He spoke about siege of Panhalgad, Veer Jiva Kashid, Bajiprabhu Deshpande, Yesaji Kank, ceasefire called by Kutubshah, slaying of Afzal Khan etc. He also explained to people about the anti-superstitions Act. A rally was taken out on the occasion of Shiva-jayanti.

 

 

 

Highlights:

1. During the oprogram, there was power-cut for 15 minutes when Mr. Vadake continued his speech by connecting the loudspeakers to the converter. Although there was darkness, nobody got up from his seat.

2. Youth attending ‘Dharmashiskhan’ class conducetd by HJS made all arrangements of the program; they also advertised about the program by making announcement on the previous day.

3. Signature drive against the proposed anti-superstitions Act was undertaken on the occasion.

4. A devout Hindu sponsored 50 books on ‘love jihad’.

5. Earlier, Shiva-jayanti used to be celebrated as per the English calendar; but due to the awareness created by HJS, it was celebrated as per Hindu calendar.
