Dombivali (Maharashtra): Shiv Sena – BJP had opposed the anti-superstitions Act earlier and now also, we will oppose this Act. If the Government passes this Act, we will take to the road but will not allow passing of such Act. The above assurance was given by Mr. Ravindra Chavan, the BJP MLA from Dombivali when he was given a representation by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for cancellation of the proposed Act. Mr. Dilip Ghag, the public relations chief of Sree Sampradaya for South Thane district, Mr. Shripad Bhosale, taluka-chief of Asaram Bapu Sampradaya from Dombivali, advocate Mr. Muralidhar Vyas, famous astrologer Parekar Guruji, priest Shembekar, Sanatan Sanstha’s Miss Madhavi Gavalkar and Mr. Anil Bhangale of HJS were present on the occasion.
Maharashtra Government has been trying for few years to pass this anti-superstitions Act; but some of the clauses of the proposed Act can be misused resulting in eradication of religious faiths in all religions. Although it is projected that the said Act is meant for eradication of offering human as sacrifice and for eradication of improper and dreadful customs; on studying the Act in detail, it is observed that the provisions of the said Act would impose ban on religious matters, informed delegation of HJS. The famous astrologer Mr. Parekar said that people spend lot of money on religious matters. If the Act is passed, it can leave many people jobless.
