Saints and pro-Hindu organizations warn the Govt.
|
Panvel (Maharashtra) : Under the name of eradication of superstitions, efforts are being made to eradicate faith under the proposed anti-superstitions Act. According to the Government, the Bill is not against Dharma despite many drawbacks. Charlatans, quacks or anti-Dharma people do not set up any organisation; even then ‘company clause’ has been incorporated in the Act. It is a despicable effort of the Congress Government to create trouble for religious institutions through the proposed Act. The Bill should, therefore, be cancelled; else Hindus ill strongly oppose the same, stated Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a press conference held here on Thursday. Other eminent personalities who shared the dais with Mr. Vatkar were H. H. Abanand Maharaj, H.B.P. Ganesh Maharaj, Mr. Motilal Jain representing Jain community, Mr. Bajarang Patil of Sree Sampradaya, Mr. Patil of Asarambapu Sect and H.B.P. Bapu Maharaj Raokar.
Govt. needs to examine the concept of God with introspection – H. H. Abananda Maharaj
H. H. Abananda Maharaj said, “One can have faith in every thing or it becomes a superstition. One should have faith in what is the Truth. Many Saints and evolved religious leaders have sacrificed their life to realize this Truth. They have suffered and gone through very difficult times; therefore, the Truth of God’s existence could be brought forth. The knowledge given by Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj to the society helped people to get rid of their bad habits. Devotees can dance merrily on the way of Alandi to Pandharpur and enjoy singing devotional songs because they forget the physical stress gone through. Every year, the Government hatches some conspiracy. The Government needs to introspect while examining the concept of God.”
Can you put great Saints behind bar? – H.B.P. Ganesh Maharaj
H.B.P. Ganesh Maharaj said, “Religious acts like piercing of ears, wearing coins should not be termed as superstitions. We consider ourselves very fortunate when we get chance to shoulder the palanquin of Lord Hanuman. When possessed, the affected person has to be tied for the safety of others. In many religious texts, there is reference of such possession by souls. It is like an offender being chained. When such possession can be removed by chanting of certain ‘mantras’, how can it be superstition? Once it was raining heavily since morning when H. H. Gajanan Maharaj was on a visit to Panvel. Devotees were worried about how to take out procession as per schedule as it was raining; but Maharaj said that the procession would start at 1.00 p.m. and the rain stopped. Can you jail such great Saints?”
Jain community will oppose the Bill – Motilal Jain
‘One cannot swim without entering water. Similarly, without knowing Dharma, one would not know what is ‘Dharma-karya’. It is not proper to create superstition in place of faith. In Jain community, going to ‘Sammet’ peak is supposed to be very lucky. It is our faith to keep fast. This anti-Dharma Bill, which eradicates faith, will be opposed by Jain community,” said Mr. Motilal Jain.
The workers of andha-shraddha nirmulan samiti are thieves ! – H.B.P. Bapu Maharaj Raokar
The workers of Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti are thieves. It is faith of people that no theft takes place at Shanishinganapur. These atheist gang had once gone there to steal; but the local residents gave them nhice beating. Congress should not pass Acts under the influence of such people; else people of Uttar Pradesh and Goa have shown them what is miracle. Here, devouts from all Sects are on one dais. The Congress Government should realize that it is the unity of Hindus,” said H.B.P. Bapu Maharaj Raokar.
